TheschoolsthatachievedpassratesinEnglish,math,historyandsciencewith95percentor moreduringthe20092010and20102011schoolyearsinclude:BelmontStation,Leesburg, LuckettsandRoundHillelementaryschools.Fromlastyear,Lincoln,LowesIsland,Pinebrook andSandersCornerelementaryschoolswerealsoawardedthewaiver. Icongratulatetheprincipals,teachersandstudentsoftheseschoolsforperformanceand achievementthatconsistentlyexceedsthecommonwealthsaccreditationstandards,Wright saidinarelease.Theseschoolshaveearnedanopportunitytosetasideconcernsaboutannual accreditationforthreeyearsandleadthewayindevelopinginnovativeinstructionalstrategies andlessonplansthatimmersestudentsinthecontentofVirginiasrigorousnewstandardsin mathematics,English,scienceandhistoryandpreparethemforsuccessonthecorresponding assessments. Eachschoolwiththewaiverwillremainfullyaccreditedthroughthe20142015schoolyear.The BoardofEducationauthorizedwaiversfromannualaccreditationforhighperformingschools in2006.SchoolsgrantedwaiverscontinuetoadministerSOLtestsanddetailedgradebygrade andsubjectbysubjectresultsarereportedtoparentsandthepublic.
