EDELMAN MAKES STRING OF NEW APPOINTMENTS IN ASIA PACIFIC


Asia Pacific Technology Practice Director Sanjay Nair Relocated to Shanghai Ashutosh Munshi and Onie Chu Appointed Asia Pacific Consumer Marketing Practice Co-Leads Tony Tao Appointed Managing Director of Shanghai and Guangzhou Jason Born Appointed Asia Pacific Communications and Business Development Manager
HONG KONG, July 6, 2012: Edelman, the worlds largest public relations firm, today made five announcements that will continue to advance its role in Asia Pacific and further regionalize and globalize its business. Sanjay Nair, Asia Pacific Technology Practice director, has relocated from Singapore to Shanghai. He will report to Pete Pedersen, EVP and Global Technology Practice chair. Nair will also report to David Brain, president and CEO, Asia Pacific as part of the APAC leadership team and Thomas Mattia, chairman, Edelman China on matters related to China. Daniel J. Edelman Global Fellow Ashutosh Munshi and Edelman veteran Onie Chu have been named Asia Pacific Consumer Marketing Practice co-leads and will be responsible for overseeing and expanding Edelmans consumer marketing practice in Asia Pacific. They will report to Christina Smedley, EVP and Global Consumer Marketing chair, and to Brain as part of the APAC leadership team. On local matters, Ashutosh will continue to report to Robert Holdheim, managing director, Edelman India and Onie will continue to report to Mattia. Tony Tao, managing director of Edelmans Shanghai Office, will take on management of Edelmans Guangzhou office from Onie Chu in an expanded role as managing director for both the Shanghai and Guangzhou offices. In addition, Jason Born has been named Regional Communications and Business Development Manager, Asia Pacific, and will be based in Shanghai. These five appointments will further advance Edelmans regional collaboration and strengthen our client capabilities in Asia Pacific, said Brain. Sanjays addition to the China senior team will be a huge plus to our business and to everyone who has the good fortune to work with him. Added Brain, Ashutosh has been instrumental in generating new business in India, while Onie brings with her over 20 years of experience in marketing and PR across Hong Kong, China and Asia. Together they will lead the charge for Asia-Pacifics consumer marketing practice at the regional level. Todays announcements are an enhancement to Edelmans Asia Pacific offering and will continue to help drive the firms growth in the region.
