Florida Chamber of Commerce Supports Doug Holder for Florida House District 74
Sarasota, Fla. Following the recent support from the Florida Medical Association, Republican Candidate Doug Holder today announced that the Florida Chamber of Commerce has endorsed him in his bid for the newly-drawn Florida House District 74 seat. The Florida Chamber is pleased to endorse Doug Holder for the Florida House of Representatives, said David Hart, executive vice president of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Rep. Holder understands that to secure Floridas future, businesses need the ability to grow private-sector jobs and our states economy. That means making bold legislative decisions to help create a stable and predictable business climate. Rep. Holders proven track record demonstrates that he embraces free enterprise principles and solutions, and we are pleased to support him. I thank the Florida Chamber of Commerce for their support of my campaign, said Holder. As a small business owner and entrepreneur, I understand the need for new businesses, job creation and free enterprise. Change is necessary to get our states economy back on track, and I will fight to lower taxes, reduce regulations and provide more incentives for both new and existing businesses. The Florida Chamber of Commerce joins the Associated Industries of Florida Political Action Committee and the Florida Medical Association in endorsing Holder for Florida House District 74, which encompasses South Sarasota County, including Osprey, Nokomis, Venice and parts of North Port and Englewood. Doug Holder is currently a State Representative from Sarasota County and local business man. He was first elected to former House District 70 in 2006, an office he has held for six years. Since his election, Holder has held notable leadership positions within the House of Representatives, such as chairman of the Business & Consumer Affairs Subcommittee and cochair of the Congressional Redistricting Subcommittee. Holder has also served on the House Economic Affairs, Health & Human Services, and Rules & Calendar Committees. As an active voice and figure in the community, Holder is locally involved as a trustee of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and a statesman of the Republican Party of Sarasota. His commitment spans the state and nationwide, as he is also involved with the Florida Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Advisory Council, who awarded him Businessman of the Year in 2004. Holder also holds a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association and serves as the honorary cochair of the NRCC Business Advisory Council. Holder received his bachelors degree in
