SNAPSHOTS OF FEBURARY AND MARCH

KATERS JOURNEY : THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL, BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW. ASK THE LORD OF THE HARVEST, THEREFORE, TO SEND OUT WORKERS INTO HIS HARVEST FIELD. -LUKE 10:2

Snowshoeing Feb 2012 in RMNP on a very windy day with the CSU Cru staff. Some of them pictured here!

Campus: Even more than witnessing the mens basketball team make the NCAA tournament this year, Ive been extremely encouraged lately by several girls that are hungry to see God do big things in and through them. Mikayla (top right) is a freshman that recently placed her faith in Christ and has amazing passion for her team to experience God too. Kelly (right) is a senior who will graduate and be student teaching in the fall. I love meeting with her and discussing great questions about how God can intersect her future career. A track athlete, Kalie (left) recently had an amazing opportunity to tell her whole team about God at the conference championship meet. The coach asked her to motivate the team with her story from a couple weeks earlier. She ran her slowest college time in the hurdle prelims and 2 hours later came back to run a season best in the finals. Kalie shared how she was able to rely on God's strength and His ability, not her own. She told them that through prayer she refocused on running for God's glory and regained her confidence in Him alone. Connect: CSU-AIA will have our spring dinner fundraiser in just a few weeks and you may get an invitation in the mail soon! Another great way to be connected is to follow our blog that gets updated regularly for our students to stay connected during the week. www.csuaia.blogspot.com Winter retreat: 100 athletes from schools across Colorado and Wyoming got together for the annual AIA-FCA winter retreat in Estes Park, CO in March (everyone pictured left, CSU group pictured right). The theme was The missiondriven athlete. We unpacked this theme, had the Ultimate Training Camp band lead us in worship, and had SO much fun in our free time. It was great to see 9 current CSU track and field athletes there! (right, with track alum) AIA staff March Meetings: All of the AIA staff from around the country gathered at our headquarters in Xenia, OH (pictured right and left) for a fun and refreshing staff conference. Some of my favorite parts were: reconnecting with friends that Ive made through my involvement with AIA as a student and now intern; hearing from our president and others about the direction of the ministry to use unusual cooperation to grow in areas such as diversity, staff growth, and global expansion; and playing loads of volleyball among other activities with the amazing staff we have in the AIA family. Summer Assignment: Im going with a track and field project to Zimbabwe! While in Xenia, all the staff assigned to lead track and field mission-projects this summer got together to hear more about what we will be doing! I will go with a team of a dozen collegiate athletes to Zimbabwe to help equip local athletes and coaches from the national, collegiate, club and high school levels (some pictures from last year, below). We will help the AIA ministry in Zimbabwe expand to reach more athletes. I am also praying that at least 1 track athlete from CSU will come with me on a T&F summer project!
As you might imagine, there are some costs involved with traveling to Africa. My church family in Fort Collins has a saying, many hands make light work. This trip will cost me $4000, but would you consider being one of the many hands that gives $100 towards this trip? In fact, if each of you as my ministry partners contributed just $50, the trip would be covered. You can go to my giving site at www.give.ccci.org/give/0640250 for online giving, or write a check payable to Campus Crusade for Christ (write #0640250 in the memo line) and mail it to Campus Crusade for Christ , Attn: Contributions, PO Box 628222, Orlando, FL 32862-8222. Thank you for your prayers and support!!
