Fall semester is nearly complete here at Colorado State University. While some of the athletes are looking forward to beginning their seasons as a CSU Ram for the first time, others are looking forward to graduation in a few weeks as their last season as a Ram comes to a close. The beginning and end of each semester throughout college has always been interesting to me as Ive seen and experienced the transition into and out of all kinds of seasons in life. It is such a sweet reminder of how significant the impact of community is during college. I just love the community that I get to be part of with the student-athletes at CSU through Athletes in Action. I am SO thankful for the sacrifices you have made to be part of my ministry with prayers and financial gifts.

Morgan, a sweet, bubbly, sophomore studying health and exercise science at CSU, competes in the multi-events and the pole vault for the track and field team. Her season will kick -off with an intersquad meet in the next few days, but this year will be nothing like freshman year for her. I first met Morgan about this time last year when we were introduced at an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meeting. She came faithfully to FCA each week and then attended the AIA/FCA winter retreat in March where she was encouraged to have an older woman in her life pouring into her. We began meeting in the spring, and in the midst Morgan at Ultimate Training Camp of a rough freshman year in collegiate track, I challenged Morgan to join me at the AIA Ultimate Training Camp this summer. Morgan came back this fall with a whole new attitude towards track. At camp, she learned that instead of putting pressure on herself to perform for her coaches, she can have freedom in knowing that her identity is secure because of Jesus Christ; she can worship God every time she is on the track through working her hardest, having a positive attitude and encouraging her teammates. As an intern with AIA this year, I am able to meet with Morgan every Wednesday in the student center on campus. She is more excited than ever to grow in her faith. Its amazing to hear her ask really thoughtful questions and see her eyes light up as she digs deeper into her relationship with God. She is a very talented athlete, but no matter how her season looks on paper, the Ultimate Training Camp taught her to compete for a crown that will last (1 Corinthians 9:25). This summer, I will have the opportunity to attend an AIA summer opportunity as part of the staff team that facilitates the student athletes that attend. We will undoubtedly have women, who like Morgan, flourish upon learning that their identity is not based on how they perform as an athlete. Im so excited that I will most likely be traveling overseas for my summer assignment; however this raises some unexpected costs of possibly as much as $5,000. As 2011 comes to a close, I would like to invite you to prayerfully consider making a year-end gift in addition to your regular support which would help to off-set the unexpected cost of my summer assignment. As with any gift, please make your check payable to Campus Crusade for Christ or go to the secure Campus Crusade for Christ giving page and follow the simple instructions. To insure a 2011 tax credit, please make sure it is postmarked by December 22nd. Whatever you decide, know that my deep appreciation for you is unwavering. I would also love to know how to be praying for you, and you can text, call or email your prayer requests to me so that I can be praying for them throughout the month. In Him,
