ORGANIZERS
Lithuanian liberal youth
Lithuanian liberal youth (Lietuvos liberalus jaunimas, LLJ) is an independent, non-governmental, classical liberal youth organization, established in 1991. The roots of LLJ lie in the academia of Vilnius University. Students of the biggest Alma Matter of Lithuania had first created a roundtable discussion club which has later evolved into a first movement of organized liberal youth in Vilnius. Activities of Vilnius University students had soon spread all over Lithuania and on the 1st of December 1991, a national organization was finally established. Ever since the restoration of Lithuanian Independence in the beginning of nineties of the XXth century, LLJ had become an active advocate of both individual and economic liberties, free-market economy, human rights as well as liberal and democratic values. Throughout the history of LLJ, it had always been identified as an organization, known for its radically liberal values and high activity, as well as active participation. (Politology, 1(25), 2002). Today LLJ remains an independent, non-governmental, voluntary youth organisation, gathering over 1500 young people all over Lithuania. LLJ has departments in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipda, Teliai, Plung, Alytus, Utena, Jonava, Panevys, Marijampol, iauliai.
Theory of Social Change SFL exists to empower students to become leaders and agents of change in their communities, particularly within the university. Students are the principal leaders, crafting our strategy, and running programs to help fellow students. All new SFL leaders, whether Executive Board members, Campus Coordinators, Charter Team Members, and so forth, go through a rigorous training program designed to teach them how to become an effective leader of liberty both generally and specifically for their role. As part of this training, all new leaders are given a 100+ page SFL Leadership Handbook that covers everything from what it means to be a leader for liberty to effective communication strategies. The SFL Model SFL is not a top down, chapter based, or membership organization. Instead SFL functions as a network of pro-liberty students from all wide diversity of locations and backgrounds. We work with a diversity of student organizations across the many ideological positions within the philosophy of liberty. These include the campus Young Americans for Liberty, Students For Liberty, College Libertarians, free speech clubs, small l libertarian association, economics club, Objectivist society, Austrian Economics reading group, Students for Individual Liberty, and any other group that supports an idea or cause of liberty. History Students For Liberty was founded in 2008 by a group of students who wanted to make a difference by supporting their fellow libertarian students on campus. Libertarian student groups had long been isolated from one another and the larger liberty movement. The initial Students For Liberty Conference at Columbia University was originally planned for around 30 students, but demand far exceeded those estimates and 100 students ended up attending the conference in spite of a blizzard that shut down most of the region. From those humble beginning the organization has grown each
year to keep up with the rapidly growing demand and provide support to the student movement for liberty. The most recent International Students For Liberty Conference in 2012 featured over 1,000 attendees from all 7 continents.
