Distance Mediation Project

While mediation typically uses in person meetings, technology can assist in making mediation services more accessible and affordable for citizens. Mediate BC’s Distance Mediation Project found that family mediation can be done safely effectively from a distance (using the telephone or web-conferencing facilities). These findings are transferable to other types of mediation AND to other types of service provision. Communication technologies can be used on their own or in conjunction with traditional in person meetings to best meet the needs of the parties. Reports for the previous phases of the Distance Mediation Project are available. www.mediatebc.com
