NAINA LAL KIDWAI

Naina Lal Kidwai is group general manager and country head of HSBC Group Companies in India. Prior to this she was deputy chief executive officer HSBC and managing director and vice chairman of HSBC Securities and Capital Markets

EDUCATION

Completed her schooling in Loreto convent, Shimla. She completed her Bachelors degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi university. Then she went abroad for higher studies. Naina was the First Indian Woman to graduate from the HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL, Boston, Massachusetts (USA).

AWARDS
She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2007 for her work in the field of trade and industry. She was ranked 34th in the list of the worlds top 50 businesswomen announced by The Wall Street Journal in 2004 and Ranked third in Asia by Fortune Magazine in their first ever listing of the worlds top women in business in Asia in 2000.

ACHIEVEMENTS
In November 2002, Naina became vice chairman and managing director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporations (HSBC) investment banking and securities business in India In 2003 she was estimated to be the highest-paid banker in India. she is the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC in India. Naina Lal Kidwai is currently the Group General Manager and Country Head Of HSBC India

Her prominence in the corporate world is marked by her role in enabling functioning of a foreign bank in India Naina Lal's other major contributions to the corporate industry include the NYSE listing of Wipro and enabling cellular phone services in India via a deal with Tata & Birla. She also played a major role in forging the joint venture between JM Financial Group and Morgan Stanley, India
