Background.

The Kenya Association for Public Administration and Management was registered on 7th December 2007 as AAPAM(K).- African Association for Public Administration and Management.
In 2008 in order to reflect that AAPAM(K) was a chapter of the mother continental association, AAPAM(K) Changed its name to KAPAM .

Purpose.

The purpose of the association is to provide public service administrators and managers with an opportunity for continuous learning through a professional body. The Association aims at promoting networking, sharing of knowledge and experiences in a rapidly changing public service work environment .

Objectives

To foster the networking of associations, organizations and individuals interested in the progress of public administration and management. To create and maintain the tradition of providing administrators, managers, academia and institutions with an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on best practices in public administration and management

To promote the professionalism of public administration and management by adopting more effective and harmonious administrative and management systems and practices. To promote research, documentation and dissemination of information on innovative strategies for improving public administration and management

To foster relations with international, national bodies and organizations interested in the study and practice of public administration and management .

Benefits.
Some of the benefits of joining the association include(not limited to): Networking within the region and beyond with other Public Administrators and Managers. Access to AAPAM newsletters, books, annual communiqu and reports. Sponsorship to continental AAAPAM conferences.

Obligations.

Members will be expected to promote the objectives of the Association in everyway. They will be expected to observe all their obligations under the constitution including payments of annual subscriptions and subventions at the beginning of every financial year .

Rights: All categories of membership shall be entitled to participate in deliberations of the Association.

KAPAM is open to all public and private sector administrators and managers. KAPAM has the following categories of membership Corporate Honorary Individual Student
