The prime objective of any entrepreneur /business manager is to maximize the shareholders wealth by way of his positive contribution towards organizations performance,shareholders wealth can be maximized by reducing the cost of the product /services ,increasing thereby profitability and reducing the cost .supply chain management is one of the powerful technique in the hands of the powerful technique in the hands of manager to attain the objective of the enterprise . It is an effective management technique because it deals with the entire activities starting from the sourcing of raw material to the delivery of the finished products in the hands of the ultimate customers and attending the grievances/complaint/feedback thereof.the effective supply chain management will help in effective utilization of resources and reducing the cost ofproduct/services,as supply chain cost as high as 40%of the cost of the product.

The key supply chain process started by lambert(2004) are;

Customer relationship management. Customer service management. Demand management. Order fulfillment. Manufacturing flow management. Suppliers relationship management. Product development and commercialization. Returns management.

The study is aimed at mainly creating awareness to the entrepreneurs about the various components of supply chain context of enterprise management Some other objectives are;
to reduce the cost ,so as to increase the profitability. to provide maximum satisfaction to its customers and create high goodwill of the enterprise.

The present study is a qualitative approach towards the objective of the study.however,a detailed quantitative research can be further used to make a detailed study of supply chain management and mathematical model can be developed using various approaches of quantitative technique.

The research methodology is based on the secondary data sourced from various books and journals available on entrepreneurship,production operation and supply chain management,keeping in view the objectives of the study,the study was centered at identifying the components of supply chain which are useful In managing and running an enterprise effectively based on the information sourced from the books,journals and websites,the model has been developed.the emphasis of the study is focused on qualitative approach in developing the . It is a descriptive kind of research adopted in the study.

Based on the present study,it has been observed that the technique of supply chain management may be effectively used by entrepreneurs.as these are the most useful and powerful technique to reduce the cost of operations .by reducing the cost of product ,the enterprise will be in a postion to face the competition and price war threats by the competitors.
