Strangers To The Covenant

BUT GOD..

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world Ep.2:12

Strangers: xenosdenotes a foreigner: one not privy or party to an act, contract, or title We were all outside of this covenant at one time.

The picture here is quite bleaktelling us we were outside therefore without hope.

He was by no means trying to put people into a state of hopelessness, he was just stating the facts.

The FACT is God is a covenant God. From the beginning, He always moved in covenant with man. He cut covenant with Adam but Adam failed.

As man moved further and further away from Him, He worked throughout the Old Testament with men and covenant. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, Gen 6.18

In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram Gen.15:18 A covenant is a guarantee in a given relationship. The covenant itself is a set of words that are spoken to define the nature of that relationship and set forth the principles of commitment to it.

The covenant is the words that pass between two parties:

He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth. Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations; Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac; 1 Chr.16:14-16

It is seen in how God defines our relationship with Him and lays out the terms of our ongoing walk before Him. It is likened to a marriage, when a couple stand before a minister and words pass between them. These words are a covenant.

This covenant is Gods promise to YOU! He came to YOU! He found YOU! You were a stranger and HE brought YOU in! I love those two little words in EphesiansBut God

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. Mal.3:1-3

Psalm 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Jesus isnt looking for a date, but a covenant bride. What are you looking for?
