Mark 14:32-42
32 And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray." 33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. 34 And he said to them, "My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch." 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

Mark 14:32-42
36 And he said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." 37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." 39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.

Mark 14:32-42
40 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him. 41 And he came the third time and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand."

Nothing is too important for time spent in prayer.

Oh how difficult it is to stay put nowadays!

A Microsoft study found workers are interrupted by some sort of social media or e-mail every 10.5 minutes and then it takes an average of 23 minutes to return to an assigned task.

The key to prayer is surrendering our will to God.

I seek at the beginning to get my heart into such a state that it has no will of its own in regard to a given matter. Ninetenths of the difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do the Lord's will, whatever it may be. When one is truly in this state, it is usually but a little way to the knowledge of what His will is. - George Mueller

The will of God is the best choice!

Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?

Sebs, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?

(Your Name), are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Acknowledge that our flesh is weak.

But don't remain where we are. Don't use it as an excuse.

Let's pray right now!

Nothing is too important for time spent in prayer.

Mark 14:32-42

Within the week:

Spend 1 hour of uninterrupted time in prayer. (No cellphone, No Facebook, No Internet, No chatting w/ others. Just you and God alone.) 2 Focus Areas: 1) Your Personal Relationship with Jesus Do you know Him? Does He know you? Are you close to Him?
2) Re-ordering / Re-prioritizing Your Life Look at your life and your priorities right now. Ask Jesus how He wants you to re-order / re-prioritize things/people in your life.

Nothing is too important for time spent in prayer.
