HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian financial services company based in Mumbai, incorporated in
August 1994.

It is the largest bank in India by assets , the second largest bank by market capitalization and
first in Private sector banks as on February 24,2012.

The bank was promoted by the Housing Development Finance Corporation , a premier housing
finance company set up in 1977 in India. BUSINESS FOCUS

HDFC Bank deals with three key business segments i.e. Wholesale Banking Services, Retail
Banking Services, Treasury.

It has entered the banking industry for over 50 corporates providing working finance, trade
services, corporate finance, and merchant banking.

It is also providing sophisticated product structures in areas of foreign exchange and


derivatives, money markets and debt trading And Equity research.
