What is the ADAS.???

Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS, are systems to help driver in the driving process.

Why is it called so..???

Because it ASSIST the Driver While maintaining the hands on the wheel and the eyes on the road.

ADAS
Adaptive cruise control Lane departure warning system Blind spot (vehicle) Automotive night vision Traffic sign recognition Driver drowsiness detection Vehicular communication systems

Adaptive cruise control (ACC)

Uses forward looking radar & sensors to track vehicles and objects. It also detect vehicles moving in front and measure their distance and relative velocity. It process data from speed, steering-angle sensors. Also uses digital signal processor ,longitudinal controller.

By adjusting engine speed & applying brakes automatically, system ensures a preset distance is maintained b/w vehicles in same lane.

Lane departure warning system

designed to warn a driver when the vehicle begins to move out of its lane on freeways and arterial roads. Systems which warn the driver and, if no action is taken, automatically take steps to ensure the vehicle stays in its lane.

Blind spot (vehicle)

A blind spot in a vehicle is an area around the vehicle that cannot be directly observed by the driver while at the controls, under existing circumstances blind spots are the areas of the road that cannot be seen while looking forward or through either the rear-view or side mirrors Automatically applies brake if driver not responded after warning.

Automotive night vision

An automotive night vision system is a system to increase a vehicle driver's perception and seeing distance in darkness or poor weather beyond the reach of the vehicle's headlights. It will warn driver with symbol and with Alarm to alert driver.

Traffic sign recognition

Traffic sign recognition is a technology by which a vehicle is able to recognise the traffic signs put on the road e.g. "speed limit" or "children" or "turn ahead"

Speed limit detection

Pedestrian detection

Driver drowsiness detection

Driver drowsiness detection is a car safety technology which prevents accidents when the driver is getting drowsy. Various studies have suggested that around 20% of all road accidents are fatigue-related, up to 50% on certain roads. It will vibrate the steering to make him alert.

Vehicular communication systems

Car-to-X communication networking of the car with other vehicles

for example in form one another of emergency vehicles on the road, or warn one another of slippery streets or communicate at intersections

There are two different scenarios for the establishment of Car-to-X technology In one scenario, the LTE mobile radio network plays a key role it routes data centrally to the servers of service providers who then send the data out, individually prepared, to individual vehicles. The other scenario relies on decentralized communication via automotive WLAN the cars send data spontaneously and autonomously from the one vehicle to another in a chain, which represents a new form of swarm intelligence.

Automotive WLAN, which operates at a frequency of 5.9 GHz, has a range of about Two kilometres and is even suitable for very high driving speeds. In the European catalog of communication standards, it is listed as standard ITS-G5,

Fascinating features
Automatic parking of cars
Now using I-Phone5 it is possible to control the car by using drive car application. Door indicator while opening doors

APPLICATIONS
using in the luxury cars like AUDI - , Q5, A6, A8 ,Q7,A7 BMW - 7 Series, 5 series, 6 series, 3 series BENZ - S-Class, E-Class, SL-Class, M-Class VOLVO CHRYSLER - 300C LAND ROVER

PROS & CONS

Accidents reduced to a great extent. More Safety. More comfort for drivers. Cost effective Not economical to use for all people

Future scope
FUTURE SCOPE is wide for ADAS As it recognizes the situations where driver not responding. Now many companies like Honda,GM,Toyota are also implanting ADAS. In future the prices will reduce and available at reasonable costs.

conclusion
Our ultimate goal is to achieve zero.

Zero accidents only take over control of the car when collisions are imminent
