Concepts of leadership and management Defining leadership: Good leaders are made not born. Good leaders develop through a never-ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience.

Definition of leadership
Leadership is a complex process by which a person

influences others to accomplish a mission, task, or objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. A person carries out this process by applying her leadership attributes (belief, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills).

Leadership Activity
Group in to 2 groups; Form up lines as possible line up such that they can whisper to their immediate neighbours. Discuss the best strategic ways to form the line/Appoint a leader A phrase will be told by the judges and the first player whispers it as quietly as possible to his or her neighbour. Last person who gets the message must write it down in the white board as he or she received. Leader must appoint ; number of members who can stay idol depend on the team size and he/she can call or replace the team members according to the strategic values.

rise to the occasion, which brings out extraordinary leadership qualities in an ordinary person. This is the Great Events Theory. People can choose to become leaders. People can learn leadership skills. This is the Transformational Leadership Theory. It is the most widely accepted theory today
