The EOC assessments will NOT count as 15% of a students final grade for this year. Note: This change involves freshman and sophomore students taking EOC assessments. Current juniors and seniors remain under TAKS assessment requirements, not EOC.

SWIM SWEEPS DISTRICTS


Both the Boys and Girls, JV and Varsity once again swam to victory at the District 23 Championships this weekend! The Girls Varsity Results: CHS 196.5 AHS 85.5 EHS 85 Boys Varsity Results: CHS 199 AHS 110 DHS 74

Amanda Allen was awarded Girls Swimmer of the Year for District 23 AAAAA.

HORSE JUDGING TEAM WINS

Wear Red Friday, Feb 1, 2013 for the 10th Annual National Wear Red Day

SOUPER BOWL BEGINS


Cans will be donated to East Fort Bend Human Needs in the name of CHS. January 28 Feb 1 collect cans in 5th period classes. We will pick them up that Friday by the end of the day. 5th period winning class receives a pizza party. Winner is based on #cans/person so small classes can win just as easily as big classes. Top three class teachers win a gift card too.

COURSE INFO NIGHT


Course Information Night will be Tuesday, Jan 29 from 6:30 8:00 in the Commons. Teachers from all departments will be available to answer questions about courses to be offered for the 2013 -14 school year.

YEARBOOKS

CHEER TRYOUTS
Cheer Tryouts are fast approaching. Cheer Tryouts will be held Tuesday, March 5th at 7:30. Mandatory parent/cheer nominee meeting will be Tuesday, February 19 @6:30pm in the CHS Library. You must attend the meeting to receive the paperwork. Please know that a current physical will be required to complete the tryout process. Clements High School will have 8th grade private school registrations on February 4th, 5th, and 7th. Registrations will take place in the morning by appointment only and the student must be present in order to register. Parents can contact the Registrars Office at 281-634-2176 to schedule an appointment.

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS


ACES, Asian Cultural Exchange Society, is hosting again this year the penny drive for the research as well as the treatment of pediatric leukemia and lymphoma patients. Two years ago, we raised more than $1,800.00 for this worthy cause! We are hoping to beat that total this year! BRING YOUR MONEY TO 5TH PERIOD ON 1/24/13

SINGING VALENTINES
Singing Valentines this year will be SOLD on Jan. 28th Feb. 1st during all three lunch periods. They will be DELIVERED on Feb. 8th, 11th and 12th during 4th period by members of our Varsity Mixed Choir. Please indicate below which days you would be willing to have students come into your 4th period class to sing their songs (under 2 minutes for each song), which will be accompanied by the delivery of a carnation and lollipop!

We have two Clements Rangers that were recognized by the Texas High School Coaches Association for Academic All State. Steven Flolid received First Team Academic All State Alex Hawkins received Second Team Academic All State

TEXTBOOK LATE FEES


Late fees began accruing Mon, Jan 14. Late fees will be $1 per book/per day up to max of $20 per book. Students will not receive textbooks for Spring one semester courses until they have returned or paid for textbooks from fall one semester courses.
