WHAT IS TEAM ?
o Team Consist of Following

o A team is a number of persons associated together in work or activity: as a group on one side (as in football or debate).

TEAM v/s GROUP


o According to Stephen Robbins a work group is a group that interacts primarily to share information to make decisions to help each other to perform within his or her area of responsibility. o Work team is group whose individual efforts results in a performance which is greater than the sum of individual contributions

WORK GROUP V/S WORK TEAM


WORK GROUP Allocated specialized task Minimal training is required WORK TEAM Members have number of skills appropriate for different job category. Members feel a sense of ownership for their jobs and unit. Members identify the necessary tasks as well as the person Supervisor acts as a facilitator and coach

Members tend to focus on themselves. No relationship between efforts & end results Supervisor decides about the task

When you see the geese migrating, going to a warmer place, to sort the winter... Pay attention that they fly in a V formation Maybe you will be interested in knowing Why they do it this way...

LESSON 1

Sharing the same direction and working as a team, get us to the destination quicker and easier. By helping ourselves, the accomplishments are greater

When a geese leaves the formation He feels resistance from air & find other difficulties in flying

Then he quickly comes back to formation to take advantage of Flocks power in front of him

LESSON 2
By staying in tune and united beside those who are going in the same direction,the effort will be less. It will be easier and pleasing to reach the goals,Everyone will be inclined to accept and give help.

When The Leader Goose gets tired of Flying

To share the leadership, There must be mutual respect between us all the time...

Then other members of the group leaves the formation to be with him until he dies or able to fly

LESSON 5
Lets stay beside each other no matter what the differences. Specially in times of difficulty and great challenges

If we bond together and support each other.. If we make true the spirit of teamwork.. Regardless of our differences, we can rise to meet our challenge. If we are aware of the feeling of sharing.. LIFE WILL BE EASIER AND THE PASSING OF YEARS MORE FULFILLING ..

ILLUSTRATION
o One day a little Mouse living on a farm spied farmer and his wife opening a package contained not food but a mouse trap. The mouse ran to farmyard warning everyone, There is a mouse trap in the house

o The chicken raised his head and exclaimed, Mr. mouse I can tell you this trap is a grave concern to you, but it has no connection to me and I cannot be bothered with it.

o The mouse turned to the Pig. Pig replied I am sorry Mr. Mouse, but the trap is no concern of mine either.

o Then mouse moved to Bull but he also replied in the same way that it is not a concern for me also.

o The Mouse returned to the house dejected that no one would help him or was concerned about his dilemma. He knew he had to face the trap on his own.

o That night the sound of a trap catching its prey was heard throughout the house. The farmers wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness she could not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmers wife.

o The farmers wife caught a bad fever and farmer new the best way to treat a fever was with chicken soup. He took his hatchet to the farmyard to get soups main ingredient.

o The wife got sicker, and friends visited her round the clock. The farmer had to feed them , so he butchered pig.

o The farmers wife got worse and died. So many friends and family came to her funeral that the farmer had to slaughter the bull to feed them all.

o So next time when we hear that one of our team mate is facing a problem and think it does not concern or affect us let us remember this.
