Marshal Bruce Mathers III Born October 17,1972 to present Was a very talented storyteller at a young age Was

introduced to rap music by his uncle who gave him Ice T`s single Reckless when he was 11 years old Two years later he got a copy of Licensed to Ill by The Beastie Boys Started performing in amateur rap performances at the age of 14 That same year he joined a rap group called Bassmint Productions

Early on in his career local rapper Champtown was his mentor and helped him get studio time. They had a falling out short after. In 1996 he released his first album Infinite. In 1997 Dr. Dre heard his demo tape and took Eminem under his wing. Eminem is sighed to Dr. Dre record label Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records in 1998. By the end of the year The Slim Shady LP was released.

By 1999 The Slim Shady LP had gone triple platinum. Most critics gave it bad reviews because of the vulgarity. In 2000 The Marshal Mathers LP was released. Eminem gets back to his roots as a story teller in this album. It sold 1.76 million copies its first making it the fastest selling solo album in American history.

In 2001 Eminem did a performance with Elton John at the 43rd Grammy Awards to put to rest that he is a homophobe. In 2002 The Eminem Show was released. In the songs he tells about his rise to fame and about the problems he has within his family. It was the most popular album of 2002 and has gone 10 times platinum.

In 2004 the album Encore was released. The hit song was Just Lose It In the song he takes a jab at Michael Jacksons scandals. In 2005 he stated on a radio show that he was going to take a break from rap.

After a four year hiatus from producing his own music he released Relapse World wide it sold five million copies We Made You was the hit single. Latter that year Refill was released as a bonus CD on Relapse The seven song were intended to tie fans over until the next album was released.

In June of 2010 Eminem released his sixth solo album Recovery. The album is much softer then his previous albums. Most of the songs have positive messages to stand up. The hit single Not Afraid was an international success. With the sales of Recovery Eminem is the best selling solo artist in the united states of all time.

In 2011 both The Eminem Show and The Marshal Mathers LP went diamond selling more then 60 million copies each. In May of 2012 Eminem announced that he is working on his next album set to be released in 2013.
