Front Cover

I really like this front cover as it conforms to the conventions of a music magazine. The fact that Jade is wearing headphones allows potential readers to know that it is a music magazine straight away and this is re-emphasised by the name Base which is a word-play of the bass you hear in songs. I like the colour scheme that runs throughout and I think the contrasting red Dr Dre beats add a nice touch of colour to the front cover. Your sell lines look very professional through the use of different font sized to emphasise different parts of the sell lines. Also, it is very clear to see that the model featured on the cover is Jade McClune as her name is much larger than the other sell lines and is strategically placed under the photograph. - Janani Yogeswaran

Contents Page
I think your contents page looks very realistic as you have made the page numbers stand out, given titles to all of the articles as well as short descriptions. Also, I like the way you have laid out the page with the cover story and regular features being separated and other cover stories having the button next to them so that they are easily identified. Furthermore, the subscribe box looks very realistic due to the fonts you have chosen and the Social Networking box at the top of the right page is a very good idea and develops the conventions of a music magazine well. The only criticism I would give is that all of the artists in the photographs are solo female artists, therefore I would have recommended that you make it clear that this is a female edition or try and use more images of groups/male artists too. However, I still think your contents page looks very professional and makes it easy for readers to navigate around the magazine. - Isha Shah

Double Page Spreads

In my personal opinion, your double page spreads are the best pages in your magazine. I like how you have developed the conventions of a magazine by having the introduction on a separate page and the photograph used is so interesting that it draws the reader in straight away and captures their attention. Furthermore, your article flows very well and the fact that it is in 3 columns makes it look very realistic. I like the way you have designed your pull quotes by using the same turquoise/teal colour in order to have continuity in your magazine. I also think the layout of the pages is very good and I like how the images are on one side in order to ensure that they do not distract the readers from the article itself. Lastly, I think the extra features on the final double page spread end the article really well and I think challenging the conventions of an article by having the reviews of other artists written from Jades point of view is a really good idea as it will make her seem more relatable to the readers. Overall I think this looks very professional and I dont think there are any changes that should be made. - Johnny Fonseca
