The volume of the Brazilian exports to Greece have not changed significantly in the past years. In the last decade, the total Brazilian exported to Greece represents around 1% of total exports. In 2012, 80% of the total exported to Greece were concentrated in coffee (47%), tobacco (15%), sugar (17%) and soya (3%).
Greek exports to Brazil almost triplicated in the period 2009 2011 (US$ 34 million in 2009, US$ 67,8 million in 2010 and US$ 103,1 million in 2011). There was an almost 60% decline in Greek export in 2012 (US$ 42 million), compared to 2011 (US$ 103,1 million). According to the World Tourism Organization, Brazil received a total of 5 million tourists in 2008 and 4,8 million in 2009. Brazil total tourists distribution by continent of arrival was the following: Europe (33%), Amrcia (60%), Asia (4%), Africa (2%) and Oceania (1%). As regardas to the distribution of arrivals by country of origin, the largest number of tourists in 2009 were from Argentina (25,2%), UE (12,7%), Italy (5,2%), Germany (4,4%) and France (4,49%) In 2008, 10,3 thousand Greeks visited Brazil. In 2009, this number was reduced to 7,5 thousand people. This represents 0,1% of total Brazilian international arrivals.
According to the Hellenic Statistics Services, in the period Jan-Dec/ 2011, 14.6 million tourists visited Greece. This represents an increased of 10,4% compared with the same period in 2010 (13.2 million). The total tourists distribution for 2011 was the following: Europe (89,2%), Asia (5,4%), Africa (0,2%), America (4,4%) and Oceania (0,8%). As regards to the distribution of arrivals by country of origin, the largest number of arrivals in 2011 came from Germany (13,6%), the United Kingdom (10,7%) and France (7,0%)
In 2010, 34 thousands Brazilian tourists visited Greece. In 2011, there was a 53,2% increase in this number (52 thousand Brazilian tourists). Brazilian tourists represent 0,3% of the total tourists in Greece.
