In English, most verbs are REGULAR. That means they form their PAST FORM by adding ED, like these :

When the verbs end in E, you just add D to When the PAST verbs : end in form the Y, you change it into I LOVE - LOVED and add ED : LIVE - LIVED CRY - CRIED

Past form of irregular verbs are all different ... and you have to learn them !!
