We are Your Power Partners. The Prescon is a registered partnership firm (under Companies Registration Act 1932) in Feb 2006 in Lahore, Pakistan. It started as a consulting unregistered company started in end 2005 to its present state where we are representing companies like DOBLE POWER TEST UK, ETAP USA, LEMKE HIGH VOLTAGE TECHNOLOGIES GERMANY / USA and SEL. Basically Prescon deals in Electrical Products and Services only. Very Recently we have joined Solo Group of campanies to enable us to reach larger market with complete engineering solutions.

1. Doble Power Test UK www.doble.com Doble is the leading HV equipment testing services company of the world. They offer testing services for complete substations and power generation plants that include testing of power transformers, generators, medium voltage motors, HV / MV bushings, Circuit Breakers, Cables, Surge Arrestors, etc. They also have a world renowned DGA lab for oil testing. Doble has a very good range of products also which includes state of the art Frequency Response Analyzer M5X00, Insulation Analyzer for C&DF, Excitation Current, Leakage Reactance M4X00, secondary current injection test sets like F2xx0 and F6xx0 series, transformer condition monitoring online equipment IDD, Acoustic PD monitoring equipment. Business through Prescon In a very short span of time, The Prescon has won testing orders from SEPCOL power plant for transformer testing and Engro Chemicals for generator testing. In the upcoming shutdown of HUBCO and AES, Doble is almost sure of getting testing orders for transformers, motors and generators at these IPPs. Dobles Visit Dobles team testing is paying a visit to Pakistan soon. We will be meeting with clients like IPPs, Wapda, KESC, and other chemical and Petrochemical companies.

2. ETAP Electrical Transient Analyzer Program; www.etap.com

ETAP from USA is one the most complete electrical design software suite. They are among the top three companies in the world with PSS/e and PSCAD.
Business through Prescon JGC Descon has bought and using ETAP PS 5 for electrical design activities for industrial projects. The Prescon has won ETAP an order from Uinversity of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. The software is to be installed in the Post Graduate Research Laboratory of UET under the auspices of Head of Power Division of Electrical Department. Engro Chemicals Dharaki has shown their intent for conducting a sample study and then buying the software. The software is being evaluated by NESPAK against PSS/e. In this regard, we have managed to submit a dozen of quotations to other consultants and EPC companies and IPPs like, Enar Petrotech, Hubco and very recently PEL.

3. LEMKE GmbH High Voltage Testing and Monitoring Equipment; www.ldic.de

Lemke is renowned for their offline and online Partial Discharge equipment. They are the inventor of first differential PD Probe called Lemke Probe a tool that utility companies must have or consider. They can also offer complete test floor shops for transformer and bushing testing.
Why Entering into PD Business First of all, we have a vision of being an Asset Management Company. Therefore after testing services company like Doble finds PD signs in machinery, we need to offer client PD monitoring solution as well to complete our portfolio. The Prescon has entered into partnership with Lemke after a survey of the IPPs. Majority of the IPPs are 8-10 years old in this country and this is about time that Partial Discharge starts appearing in generators, motors and transformers. With harsh climatic and heavily loaded / large voltage variation grid conditions, PD situation aggravates. Lemke / LDIC has already sold LDS-6 system to WAPDA reclamation shop in 2004. System has to be commissioned yet. If desired, we can arrange on site training services at cost. Quotes Submitted In about quarter of an year, we have made great inroads into this market as well where the biggest challenge was to educate the professionals as well. So far we have submitted quotations to Hubco, AES Lalpir, Kapco, Tapal Energy, UCH worth nearly 350 K Euros.

4. SEL USA Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories; www.selinc.com
SEL is among the top five companies of protection relays, panels and energy meters. SEL is the only company in the world which offers 10-years warranty on all of their products. This shows the confidence in the product quality. In EHV side, SEL has about 65-70 % of market share for Numerical relays in USA. SEL was the first company to introduce Numerical Distance Relay. Now they have the most complete range of relays including but not limited to distance, line differential, high impedance busbar differential, Low impedance differential, Overcurrent, earth fault & breaker failure, transformer, motor and generator protection, etc. In Pakistan: SEL-321 is installed at 500 KV Jamshoro Grid probably since it was commissioned in 1995 (not sure). We have supplied loose relays to IPPs as well. In this regard, we are working with NTDC System Protection to offer more relays for field testing. Pretty soon we will supply the relays as discussed.
