Johann gutenberg was a german blacksmith,goldsmith,p -rinter and publisher who introduced printing to europe. Gutenberg was the first european to use movable type printing around 1439.

The use of movable type was a marked improvement on the hand written manuscript,wich was the existing method of book production in europe.

The earliest kind of print technology was developed in china,japan and korea.This was a system of hand printing. The imperial state in china was for a very long time the major producer of printed material.

By the 17th century,as urban culture bloomed in china the uses of printers diversified.printers was no longer just used bu scholar officials. Merchant used print in their everyday life,as they collected trade information.

FOUNDATION OF MODREN PRINTING As a contributer to modern printing there is no individual of greater reown than johann gutenberg . The first book to be printed with gutenbergs movable type was the latin bible,comprising two volumes of 300 pages each. Since each page had 42 lines of type,the bible today is alternately known as the gutenberg bible.
