Problem of ageing population in Hong Kong and its effect and serious

Introduction
We always heard people said ageing population in Hong Kong become more and more serious. But do you know what is ageing population? How serious does it in Hong Kong? How does ageing population affect us? We hope that we can answer the above question by finish this project, and increase the knowledge about ageing Population.

What is ageing population?

Ageing population means the increasing of the the proportion of the elders people in a place in a period of time. It most happens in the developed country. Especially in the Europe Country.

Now we know that what is ageing population. But do you know why there is ageing population in Hong Kong?
I do not know. Tell me please!!!!

Main reason of ageing population

1.declining fertility rates Childcare costs increase Stress of living increase 2.Life expectancy increase Improving of medical technology public hygiene improve People care more about health in nowadays

I have a question. How serious is this problem in Hong Kong?

 In 2001 ,HK have only about 16% of people who are 1-15 years old and it keep increasing up to 12%. In 2001, HK have about 11% of people who are 65 years old or above and it keep increasing up to 24%. The medium age of HK people increasing from 37 to 46.

 The average age of man increase from72.3 to 78.2 . The average age of woman increase from78.5 to 84.1. That show us the average age and the medium age of HK people is increasing seriously. The number of elder people is also increasing but the number of young people is decreasing.

Let us talk about how does ageing population affect us.

We have already ask the Hong Kong citizen this question by questionnaire . In the questionnaire, most of them think that ageing population in Hong Kong is serious but this problem does not affect them.

So what or who will it affect ? Tell me please!

 Increasing of elders Government need to spend a large amount of money in Community resources which are for the elders such as comprehensive social security assistance scheme, material aid , etc. It waste many public revenue and government will have a heavy burden . If government solve it

incorrectly, Hong Kong may have a deficit .

Oh , no .

 Decreasing of young people

Most of the labor force in Hong Kong is come from the young people(<60) . If there is less young people , the GMD() will decrease . Then the Salaries tax will decrease , Hong Kong government will have less income. If government solve it incorrectly, Hong Kong may have a deficit .

Conclusion
In this project , we know that ageing population in Hong Kong is very serious .It will affect the economic of Hong Kong. The citizen which has done the questionnaire have same idea with us : Ageing population do not have direct effect to us .But they still want to know more about it and they hope this problem will be solved.
