Turkish fleet operating in international transport consists of high Standard vehicles under Euro norms,
however; the fleet in domestic transport market especially in freight transport does not conform to the same standards. As a solution to this fact, a Project has been developed and motor-vehicles whose model year is 1979 and older in both freight and passenger transport will be gradually withdrawn from the market within 2 years. (This implementation covers motor vehicles whose maximum permissible weight is more than 3.500 kg in freight transport and buses which have more than 16 sitting places including the driver.) Through this project, 160.000 vehicles-trucks and buses- are expected to be withdrawn from the domestic market.
