Safety of PMT Project.


Toolbox Talk of AEs, Supervisors & representative of the contractor before execution of work at site (Both formats .i.e. Toolbox Talk Form & Safety inspection forms provided by HSEQ Department to be properly understood & filled by the personal that will be present at the site). Qualification of Personnel of the contractor should be according to the trade.

When working on O/H Lines (H.T, L.T & Installation of PMT)

Risks Assessment:
Electrocution of Personal. Falling from heights. Falling of tools & Tackles from heights. Return of supply from consumer ends (UPS, Generators etc.) Worse conditions of working tools .i.e. rust on metals, improper & weak insulations. Hopeless condition of existing network while dismantling job is to be done. Lines not properly grounded or de-energized.

When working on U/G Cables (H.T & L.T)

Safety Measures for minimizing or mitigating the Risks & Hazards.


Proper & Regular Toolbox talk with AEs, Supervisors & authorized personal of the contractors Proper isolation to prevent/mitigating electrocution of the personal. Safety equipments including safety belts, safety harnesses, safety helmets, proper safety dress, safety shoes & safety gloves must be used while working on O/H lines to minimize the Hazards & Risks. Lines properly grounded & de-energized. Cutting tools must be in good conditions while dismantling, safety gloves must be used along with other safety tools to avoid the risk of cutting. While excavation job for U/G cables is to be done safety uniform including safety shoes, gloves & safety helmet with visor must be worn to mitigate the risk of flashovers.

Safety Measures for minimizing or mitigating the Risks & Hazards.


Due to weight of the H.T Cable 300mm2 it must be handled with care. Test lamp must be included in tool box of the lineman. Proper use of safety signs & tags is pretty necessary. Work must be done in well synchronized manner between different department (Operations, SSM, Concerned NTW centers IBCs, VIBCs & UGM). Log book to be maintained for incidents God forbidden if occur.

Do & Donts:
Do the do's not the don'ts! Being safe is like breathing - you never want to stop. Do your work with pride, put safety in every stride. Don't be a fool, cause safety is cool, so make that your rule. Don't be a fool, use the proper tool.

Don't be safety blinded, be safety minded.


Don't fix the blame, fix the problem! Don't learn safety by accident! Don't lose your head to gain a minute! Every accident - every - time if it's predictable it's preventable!"
