Clements Academic Decathlon Team


competed at the Cinco Ranch Invitational Meet. The team won 3rd place overall. They also took home several individual awards. 10 Individual Math Awards, including perfect scores for Aanandh Chandrasekar, Gene Hsu, and Jim Ren. 4 Science Awards 4 Language and Literature Awards 4 Art Awards 3 in Economics 1 in Social Science 1 in Music The team competes next at the District Competition in December.

Clements Choirs
had 39 students place in All-Region competition with 26 qualifying for Pre Area on Nov. 21st. We are very proud of these outstanding singers! The fall concert is tonight at Sugar Land Baptist Church at 7:00 P.M. It is free to the public and features all of our performing choirs.

Orchestra Winners
23 students were named Area level winners in the TMEA All-State competition. Each of these students recorded their entry for the final stage of the competition to determine the Texas All-State Orchestras. Judging for this final phase will be Nov. 9-10 please wish them luck as they go for All-State.

RangerBots
Clements RangerBots competed in their first robotics competition ever. These individuals developed a robot which traversed a course picking up objects, and dropping them into buckets, while keeping another team from doing the same. The team finished third in qualifying out of 54 teams, and posted the highest overall score of any team. Team members are: Christopher Denny, Eric Li Thomas Lau & Kevin Rao

HABITAT NEWS
Habitat 4 Humanity next meeting is Thursday, Nov 7 Downstairs Lecture Hall at 2:45-3:15 Frisbee Tournament will be held Nov. 15. There is still time to enter. See Ms. Goeke in room 2330.

MUMS ON SALE
Homecoming mums and garters will be on sale during all three lunches in the Commons October 21 October 31. Please go to the Band website, www.clementsband.com and click on the tab for mums. The website includes the order forms, pictures, directions and club trinkets.

Tuesday: Einstein Day (Wear attire that Einstein and individuals of his intellectual caliber would appreciate) Wednesday: Twin Day (Find a fellow teacher/faculty member and dress similarly!) Thursday: Character Day (Choose a character from your favorite book, movie, TV show, etc.) Friday: Blue Out Day (BLUE out your attire in support of our boys in blue)

SPIRIT WEEK

PEP RALLY
the Homecoming Rally will begin at 2:00 in the Auditorium. Due to the lack of space, the cheerleaders will sell tickets for a dollar in order to go to the pep rally. They will sell the tickets on the stage during all three lunches. All monies collected will go to the American Cancer Society.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY


Habitat for Humanity will be having annual Ultimate Frisbee tournament on Nov 8! Teams are forming. So get signed up in the English Hallway Information will be posted on their Facebook page.

CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPS


Please congratulate the cross country team. The girls' varsity/jv and the boys' varsity/jv are all district champs. We brought home 4 district champion plaques as well as 3 first place medals and 2 second place medals. We also had several other top ten finishers. The teams are listed below. They won with class and represented Clements High School well.

WAY TO GO, TENNIS~


Congratulations to the varsity tennis team for winning the district team tennis championship.

91 members of the Clements Academic Speech Team competed Friday and Saturday at the Bellaire Tournament. The team won first place debate sweepstakes and first place overall. Clements was one of 46 schools competing. In addition to sweepstakes, team members picked up four additional qualifications for the Texas Forensic Association State Meet scheduled for March of 2014. To date six students have earned the right to compete with a total of eight qualifications among them.

SPEECH TEAM

Clements Computer Science teams


had an outstanding start to their competition season on Saturday. They won sweepstakes at the Seven Lakes Kick off classic. There were a 103 teams competing ( 12 from Clements). 9 of our teams placed. Almost every student received a team or individual medal.

Way to go, Orchestra!


43 orchestra students were named to the 2013 All-Region Orchestras this past Saturday. These students have spent months preparing for this event, and many will continue in the All-State selection process

ATTN: SRS
Pro Grad T-Shirts will be on sale in the CHS cafeteria every lunch period from now through Thanksgiving. They are $20 each, and seniors get 1 service hour credit for each shirt purchased.

GET RID OF OLD DRUGS


The FBISD Police Department, Safe and Drug Free Schools Department, and the Fort Bend Community Prevention Coalition, will sponsor the Drug Enforcement Administrations National Drug Take Back Initiative on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot at FBISD Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd. in Sugar Land. This event is an opportunity to clean out your medicine cabinet of old, expired or unwanted medicine. One purpose is to ensure that our youth dont have access to prescription medications, which can lead to abuse and addiction. Another purpose is to have an environmentally safe way to dispose of medications rather than our water system. Everyone wins with this strategy.

VETERANS DAY
Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration, November 11th. Clements NJROTC will be marching in the parade, which will commence at 12:00 noon and snake throughout downtown Houston. Our Clements colors will be on display and we invite all of you out to enjoy the event. The CHS band is the honor band for the parade!

Seniors, over 400 of you have turned in your senior quote. Yearbook is still accepting them. Please stop by room 2801 and fill out your quote.

COLLEGE VISITS
The link to the college and career readiness center here at CHS is http://chsccrcenter.weebly.com/ccr-centercalendar.html In order for students to attend the college visits they must register for the event, registration closes at noon the day before the visit. All info on how to register is on this site.

PRO GRAD
Seniors can also earn hours by joining either the Clements Facebook page, Twitter, or the newly added Instagram. If a student joins, likes and shares one of our three social media pages, it is worth 1 hour to him or her.

CLEMENTS PRO GRAD CAR WASH


Saturday, Nov. 9th, 11 am 3 pm Dr. Halfords Office 4503 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land Car Wash: $5.00 Seniors support pro-grad by selling 4 tickets to the car wash at $5.00 each. Shifts are available. From 11:00-1:00 and 1-3p.m. You will earn one prograd buck for every hour you work.

Key Club International is all about providing its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. We have upcoming service events and lifechanging activities planned so make sure to attend the meetings. If you are not coming for our amazing food, come for our upcoming events. Its a great way to give back to the community, gain experience in leadership, and gain skills that are essential in the real life. Meetings are every other Monday
