SYNOPSIS
Edith and Rodney have invited the audience to a dramatic reading of a selection of classic HP Lovecraft horror stories in their home. Edith and Rodney take turns recounting the stories, while providing interesting historical information about Lovecraft in between readings. The four stories are: -The Statement of Randolph Carter Carter states what he can remember of a late night tomb exploration with his research partner, Warren. -The Music of Erich Zann A college student stumbles upon a strange neighborhood and meets an old, strange musician. -The White Ship A dream-like journey of a lighthouse keeper to mystical, far away lands. -The Picture in the House A researcher takes shelter from a storm in an old, abandoned house, only to discover it is not abandoned.

SYSTEM DESIGN CONCEPT

- We wanted to give the designers the ability to place sounds anywhere in the room. The small size of the stage and intimate setting made localization an important aspect. -Sounds interacting with the actors. -We also wanted to try out creating a reverb system that could easily integrate with other future shows. Rather that adding reverb to a given clip itself, this system allows for a dry clip to have reverb added to it live. This reverb is played through 7 speakers spread around the room and aimed at the walls to excite the natural reverberant field of the room.
