NO CELL, NO LIFE

CELL
1. Cells are the basic units of life

4/4/2007

2. Cells are very small. They cannot been seen with naked eyes (mata kasar). They can only be seen with a microscope 3. Cells are the smallest (paling kecil) living unit which carry out (melakukan) all life processes such as respiration (respirasi), digestion (pencernaan), reproduction (pembiakan) and many more

4.

All living things (benda hidup) such as human (manusia), plants (tumbuhan) and animals (haiwan) are made up of many small basic units called cells Cells come in a variety (pelbagai) of shapes (bentuk) and sizes They have common structures (struktur) that characterise (dikategorikan) them as cells

5. 6.

7.

Some living things are made up (terdiri daripada) of only 1 cell

Others are made up of many cells

8.

9. The human body (badan manusia) has 50 to 60 trillion cells 1 trillion = 1 000 000 000 000

Cytoplasm

Stores (menyimpan) food and waste products

Vacuole
Chloroplast

Stores salt (garam) and sugar solutions (larutan gula)

Contains (mengandungi) chlorophyll which is use to trap sunlight for photosynthesis (make food) a thick layer (lapisan tebal) of cellulose protect (melindungi) the plant cell maintain the shape (bentuk) of the cell

Types
1

Where ?

Function
Form a layer and protect the cells below them (melindungi badan) Receive information and sends massages to all parts of the body (terima dan hantar maklumat)

Epithelial Cover the body Cell surface and so form the skin (kulit) Nerve Cells (saraf) Brain (otak) and the whole body

Types 3 Muscle Cells (otot) 4 Bone Cells (tulang)

Where ? Heart, lungs, intestine and other parts of the body Inside the bones of our skeleton (rangka tulang)

Function Allow movements of the body (pergerakan badan) Protect and support the body (sokongan badan)

Types 5 Red blood Cells (darah merah)

Where ?

Function

Transport oxygen throughout the body Inside our (menghantar blood in the oxygen) blood vessels 6 White blood (saluran darah) Kill bacteria cells that get inside the body (darah putih) (membunuh bacteria) 7 Reproductive Male : testis Produce baby cell(pembiakan) Female : ovaries
