WHAT IS BMI?
It is a communication channel from a human's brain to a computer is independent to the usual human output pathways as muscles. enables the user to control special applications using only their thoughts allow human brain to accept and control a mechanical device as a part of the body.
BMI PRINCIPLE:
is the bioelectrical activity of nerves and muscles. A neuron depolarizes to generate an impulse (0s 1s) according to impulses generated by electrodes
ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY(EEG)
Measuring electrical activity of the brain. Brain rhythms based on eeg freq bands
BMI APPROACHES:
1. pattern recognition approach is based on cognitive mental tasks:

BMI COMPONENTS:
1. IMPLANT DEVICE:
3.EXTERNAL DEVICE
4.FEEDBACK:
ADVANTAGES:
provides better living more features, more advancement in technologies super intelligent machinescreating in effect, super humans immediate access to the internet Helpful for paralyzed, handicaped people
DISADVANTAGES:
leads to permanent brain damage loss of feelings or movement, or continual pain Virus attacks may occur to brain causing ill effects
APPLICATIONS:
1. Auditory and visual prosthesis - Brainstem implants - Synthetic vision - Artificial silicon retina 2. Functional-neuromuscular stimulation (FNS) 3. Prosthetic limb control - Thought controlled motorized wheel chair. - Thought controlled prosthetic arm for amputee. - Various neuroprosthetic devices
FUTURE EXPANSION:
CONCLUSION:
human life are always valued over and above machines. BMIs will have the ability to give people back their vision and hearing. They will also change the way a person looks at the world
