Social Studies Task


Task: The following question requires you to write an extended response that combines information from documents 1 through 4 with your knowledge of social studies. To earn full credit, you should: Read the question and then study the information in the documents. Support your ideas with both examples from the documents and information from your knowledge. Write a response that is long enough to fully address the topic. This may require more than one paragraph. Responses with fewer than 25 words will not be scored.

Question: What effect did the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960 on the lives of the students who integrated schools and what has been the effect on students in schools today. Determine if the risk to the first students was worth it. In your response give evidence from the documents and your knowledge of schools to support your claim.
