Look at the late work policy in your Syllabus and the ZAP
report you just received. How many assignments do you
personally need to make up? How long do you have to turn
them in as late?

• Diaspora = the spreading of a group of
people from where they used to live

yellow post it note

• If you do, stand up and wait to be called


on to put your post it on the map
according to the country it says
Example: post it says “Guatemala”

country you think is Guatemala

• If you don’t have a post it, underline on


your map the names of the countries on
the post its

• Without using your notes, label as many of the countries
in Spanish as possible, and underline the ones with Afro
Latinos
• Afterwards, finish labeling and underlining using your
notes
• Color the countries different colors so that they stand out

Project
1. Take out page 12, 13, and 14
“Country Poster Project”
“Country Fact Sheet”
Practice rubric and project
2. Listen to Profesora Mehl as she explains
the rubric.
3. Grade the example poster with Ms. Mehl
Jose turns in a poster that has 3 sections
completed. There is a map with
Guatemala labeled, but nothing else
around it is labeled. It is hard to read
his writing, but he did include the
amount of Afro Latinos in Guatemala.
Jose wrote 4 facts about Afro Latino
culture in Guatemala. He included
another section about Willie Sims, with
a quote and his birthday. Everything is
organized on a poster so that it’s easy
to read.

In that box answer these questions:


• Which countries are neighbors of Nicaragua?
• EXPLAIN what the African diaspora was.
(1 sentence or more)
