Why are these features present on all of the magazines ?why are they important?
I believe that the masthead is present because it gives the magazine an identity, or something for it to be recognised by, by customers. without the masthead, there would nothing to know the magazine as, this is why it is important. Cover lines are present in music magazines because they inform the customer of what is to be expected inside that particular issue of the magazine.They are important because without that sense of information that the cover lines create,there would be nothing to entice the reader into purchasing the magazine. The main image is present in magazines as it gives the front cover substance and fills up the majority of the cover.I feel that its important as it can also inform the reader of what they could expect to see inside the issue of the magazine. I dont feel that two key colours in terms of fonts has mass importance,however it does improve the aesthetics of the magazine which could increase the appeal of the issue as a whole. Main cover line shows the reader the focal point of the issue,which seperates it from the regular cover lines.

Sub genre:hip hop magazine It says the hood vs high fashion this shows that it is hip hop because that is one of the most talked about issues in hip hop currently young jeezy this shows that it is a hip hop sub gnere as it features young jeezy,a renowned hip hop artist. hip hop fuels Olympic glory hip hop fuelling olympic glory wouldnt be mentioned in a magazine that wasnt based around the music sub genre of hip hop. Also along the side it mentions more rappers and hip hop artists, for example,juelz santana,which further reinforces the fact that the source is a hip hop music magazine that centres its content around hip hop artists.

For the same magazine,say who you think the target audience is.

I feel that the target audience is for hip hop fans of around the ages of 16-27.This is because on the front cover, it doesnt seem particularly childlike, however it doesnt feature anything particularly explicit which explains the 11 year age gap. The use of hip hop central topics creates the influence that the readers would have to have hip hop orientated interests.
