ATRIUM

How the atrium make the building green Material and Construction

ATRIUM
Featured as a central open air courtyard

- Allow good ventilation - Greater penetration of daylight

Enclosed area roofed by transparent material

- Glass ( allow daylight through )

Provides daylight deep into the heart of the building

Provide an area which have a pleasing and stimulating green environment Adding visual contact with the outdoors

ATRIUM

Entering the atrium visitors will behold the

water wall that spans the height of the building.

Create soothing sound effect Reduce temperature of the enclosure.

Driven by solar electric panels on the roof

ATRIUM
Top of atrium is a solar wall (thermal flue)
2 storey black wall with vertical glass glazing in front (ventilation system) Solar radiation heat up the black wall ( turn heats up the air in a 800mm gap

between the wall and the glass) The hot air rises as in a chimney and escapes through vents. Then resulting vacuum sucks outside air into the ground level of the atrium through sliding doors. When this air passes through the sliding doors a spray mist system emits water particles, thereby cooling the air by a couple of degrees..

Solar radiation heat the wall

Hot air rises and escapes

Vacuum sucks outside air

AIR VENTILATION FLOW

Air from outside been suck inside
By the help of the water wall the hot air been cool down Recirculate the air that been used

By the help of the water wall the hot air been cool down

ATRIUM
Uses natural forces to create a comfortable and soothing intermediate space

between the hot outdoors and the fully air condition inner office space.

INTEGRATED BUILDING ENERGY DESIGN

ATRIUM MATERIAL & CONSTRUCTION

GLASS Curtain Wall System
curtain wall is an exterior wall system that is attached to the structural framework of a

building

With aluminum and glass curtain wall systems, the vertical mullions are

attached to the floors or beams

Carry gravity and wind loads Structural Glass Walls made up of tempered glass sheets suspended from special clamps, or spider fittings

CONSTRUCTION
spider fittings
used to hold tempered glass in structural glass walls To stabilized against wind pressure by perpendicular stiffeners and/or cables.
