GIRL, 5, FORCED TO DRINK SO MUCH SODA SHE DIED

A husband and wife in Tennessee are accused of making their 5year-old daughter drink excessive amounts of grape soda and water as punishmentso much so that the girl died as a result, reports the Times-News of Kingsport. Randall Vaughn, 41, and Mary Vaughn, 58, are charged with first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated child neglect, and aggravated child abuse. They could face the death penalty in the death of Alexa Linboom, who is Randall Vaughn's biological daughter, reports WBIR. Police say the couple decided to punish the girl after she drank one of her step-mother's grape sodas. They allegedly made her drink more than two liters of soda and water in an hour or two, reports AP. The couple brought the girl to the hospital after she showed signs of distress, but she died two days later. The volume of liquid had overwhelmed her system and caused serious brain damage, says her autopsy. Alexa had moved to Tennessee to live with her father about three months ago, reportedly because of neglect at her previous home.

TORONTO FATHER CHARGED IN 6-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER'S DEATH

A Toronto man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his six-year-old daughter and with the attempted murder of his son. On Monday afternoon, police were called out to a home in Scarborough. Their investigation led them to a Howard Johnson hotel at 22 Metropolitan Rd., where they found a child in "obvious distress. "The girl was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. A boy was also in medical distress when police arrived at the hotel. He was also taken to hospital. On Thursday, police issued a press release identifying the deceased girl as six-year-old Evangeline Adotey. Her father, Jason Adotey, 35, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder. He is due to appear in a Toronto court next Wednesday.

When I read story these two news also shocked me. I am very surprized children are not protect under their parents. Children are neglect, abuse , torcher and murder in all over the society. As an ECE our role is to protect the children all kind of violence and give them proper guidance. We also need to make sure that they are getting proper nutation or not. We should be very careful that they are abuse or neglect in any way. We should to promise to the society to take care the children and we raise our voice to protect the children .
