 INTRODUCTION

 The ability to safely tie-in to a

pressurized system,while under full
operating conditions.
 Adding new connections to piping is not the only use
for hot tapping.Some of the many uses include:
 Product sampling point
 Pressure control switch installation
 Flow meter installation
 Inspection of pipe line
 Thermo well sensor installation
 Determine product in the pipeline
 Draining of pipeline
 Air relief point
 Gate Valve

Drilling or
Tapping Assembly

Tee or Butt welded pipe

 The hole saw is
advanced through the
valve,to the pipe.The
machine is engaged and
the cut begins.When the
cut is finished,the
machine is disengaged
and retracted beyond the
gate of the valve.
The valve is closed and
the machine is removed.
Angle Taps, Elbow Tap
and taps perpendicular
are also possible in this
method.
 ADVANTAGES
 No need to shutdown the system for one
particular work.
 No need of Bypass line
 Convenient, no need for massive draining
of fluid.
 Economical
 DISADVANTAGES
