Optio Design Studio

An Optio Design Studio is a formatting tool, with set of instructions
for reading output data from business applications, formatting it,
and routing it to various destinations such as physical printers, e-
mail servers, fax applications, delimited data files, PDF files
It enables us to present the data from a single source into different
layouts For example, data can be received from a single source
e.g. a RDF and can be presented in multiple layouts for many
countries showing only the relative data belonging to the specific
country on the respective layout.

How Optio is Linked in NetApp Process
Document Flow :
To enable OPTIO for a concurrent program, the triggering point
will be the print style used. Currently there are four print styles.
One of these will have to be used by the Oracle Concurrent
program to get an Optio out on the completion of the request.
--NAPP_OPTIO
--NAPP_OPTIO_PORTRAIT
--NAPP_OPTIO_LANDWIDE
--NAPP_OPTIO_LANDSCAPE
The below eiserver command should be set at the Print style.
nohup /usr/local/bin/eiserver -f optioss -p
pname=$PROFILES$.PRINTER -p orgid=$PROFILES$.ORG_ID
$PROFILES$.FILENAME &

How Optio is Linked in NetApp Process
Concurrent requests printed from Oracle are picked up by the
optio OIS service. OIS service runs on each of the Poweron
UNIX servers. This is the listener that accepts requests from the
eiserver command
The eiserver command submits the specified output file to the
optioss.dcl document. This document contains a list of if
conditions, each corresponding to an optio document file. The
conditions are triggered depending on specific text being located
in a certain location on the first page of the Oracle output or XML
file.
The optioss file will determine which DCL document has to be
called to format during run time.
