CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION OF TOURISM
DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
Tourism comprises the activities of persons travelling
to and staying in places outside their usual environment
for not more than one consecutive year for leisure,
business and other purposes not related to the
exercise of an activity remunerated from within the
place visited.

The temporary movement of people to
destinations outside their normal places of
work and residence, the activities undertaken
during their stay in those destinations, and the
facilities created to cater to their needs.

Type Of Tourism

Travel can be to destinations that are domestic or international.
Domestic tourism

Residents travelling

their country.

Outbound tourism

Both describe types of
international tourism.
Tourism Product
Tourism destination development is defined as one
of the evolutionary process unless they are planned.


Tourism destination development also includes
four levels: the level exploration, involvement,
development and saturation

development that it was been used in every
tourism planning to make sure that the entire
component can fulfil the need of development.

Tourist Attraction
And Activities

Includes all the features of nature,
culture and special features and all
activities related to an area that
attracts tourists to visit.
Accommodation

All forms of accommodation such
as hotels, chalets and other
services and facilities that related
to the accommodation place.
Facilities And Other
Tourism Services

Souvenir shops, facilities, restaurant
or interest place of eating, financial
services and others are type of
facilities and tourism services that
must be used as tourism development.
Transport Services

Transport facilities are very
important in connects the two
areas of interest within the area of
tourism development. The tourist
areas are accessible by all modes of
transport by land, air and water.
Impact Of Tourism Development
Enhancing the infrastructure development
The poor countries develop their towns and
regions by the tourism.
Giving job opportunity especially for local
community.
Increase individual income.
To protect the environments and traditions
with minimum negative impacts.
Conclusion
It is because the good tourism can give
positive impact especially to the local
economic. With the natural attraction and
combine with the tourism development
components, it can provide good tourism
development planning for encourage the
tourist to visit interesting place that can
give more experience and unforgettable
moment to them. Indirectly, it can help the
potential area to be develop especially in
rural area and enhance in providing
facilities in such area.
Tourism destination development was considered the
four aspects to make sure the well planned of tourism
destination.
