attracts the readers.

name of the celebrity featured on the front page.
All of them have a variety of front type and size big,
small as well as different font face.
They use colour scheme even though its different for
each magazine they all have got one.

Why are these features present on all
the magazines? Why are they
important?
All these features are present on the magazine because they want to
meet the codes and conventions. Even they though they have
different sub genres (rnb, rock) they still have the same main genre
type (music) therefore all of the contents within are the next to
similar or same.

In order to get a good audience they need to have these features
because thats what attracts the readers as well as allowing them to
have a successful magazine review.
To make sure that you have delivered a good magazine, features as
such a important.
Take one of the covers and say what
type of music magazine it is (sub
genre).
The sub genre of the Kerrang magazine is rock. Within the
magazine, there are various features that present that this
magazine is of a rock sub genre. Things such as

are specifically a rock band. Seeing as they have been put as
the main image, it gives away that the sub genre is rock.
The strap line/skyline includes names of other rock bands
(Bullet for My Valentine, All Time Low, We Are The In
Crowd) which allows the audience to clearly see that this
magazine seen is for those interested in rock music.
The magazine uses words such as wild, spooky, pitch-
black which are stereotypically used to describe somewhat
rock as often rock bands portray themselves to be wild and
spooking with the way they are dressed.
The font on the magazine shows its rock because its very
loud and rock is known to be loud and empowering.
For the same magazine, say who you think
the target audience is. Give reasons for
your answers.
For the Kerrang magazine, I think that the target audience are those between
the age of 15 and 25, this is because the magazine consists of different bands
which means they will have a wider audience. Its also doesnt have a specific
sex as it doesnt give away anything that reflects an exact gender this again
allows it to have a wider audience which is beneficial to the editor as they will
have more views. The main image shows that the audience will partially be of
those who like the band Black Veil Brides.

The target audience is mainly shown through the colour scheme, it shows that
people who like dark colours, loud music and bands will be reading this. The
colour scheme gives a bit away of what the audiences interest as dark colours
connote fear and mystery, it often gives away negativity.
