INTRODUCTION
Today we are challenged not just to take part in
the difficult situation in our country but
undoubtedly we are to take the lead and
make a difference for a better tomorrow.
And as children of God and as Citizens of this
country we are bound to be of help to our
society in the light of the Gospel especially in
taking part in politics. As Aristotle would say
the highest activity of humans mind is to
engage in politics.

We are challenged by our Catholic

Bishops of our country to entrust
everything in the Sacred heart of
Jesus through the Immaculate
heart of Mary with their Pastoral
Exhortation, as they say

From the wounded Heart of Jesus flowed

the grace of healing and reconciliation.
Let this grace flow through us, the
community of Christs disciples, into
the blood stream of our nation. Let it
find the concrete expression in serious
advocacies for peace and dialogue,
healing and reconciliation amidst
conflict-situations in all possible
circumstances in life.

Let us consciously lay the moral foundations in

which we can build a more stable. More mature
Philippine society. Let this foundation be not just
change of leaders or a change of social and
political structures, but above all, a radical
change of heart, commending ourselves to Jesus
and his Blessed Mother as we entreat them to

make our hearts so like to (theirs) that

we may holy be!

From June 2009 June 2010 marks the

celebration of the Year of TWO HEARTS
FOR PEACE-BUILDING AND LAY
PARTICIPATION IN SOCIAL CHANGE.
Brothers and sisters take part, take the
lead and make a difference for a better life
of our fellow countrymen especially the
poor and the little ones.

Prayers of the
Faithful

As we begin the Year of the Priest and

the Year of the Two Hearts, Let us
raise our humble prayer to the Priestly
Heart of Jesus for the needs of all
mankind, of the Church and our
communities. Let our Response be:

Heart of Jesus, hear our prayer

For the universal church: may she

continue to announce to all the
endless love of the Father, as
manifested in Jesus, by making it
visible, especially to the needy, the
oppressed and all those who are
longing for signs of Gods mercy.
Let us pray to the Lord

2. For the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI,

our bishops, and priests: Through their
teaching and witness, may they be
sources of inspiration and
encouragement to the entire community
of believers, and all the people of
goodwill.

Let us pray to the Lord

3. For all priest throughout the

world: May they emulate the Zeal
and personal holiness of St. John
Mary Vianney, and enjoy the
respect, support and love of the
communities entrusted to their
pastoral care

4. For the priest in our country: May

they be our inspiration in living the
values and lead us in being faithful
servants of God and builders of
communities of solidarity, sharing,
and love.

5. For all the devotees of the Sacred

Heart and the Immaculate Heart of
Mary: May they mirror in their lives
the selfless love.
Let us pray to the Lord

6. For our laity, and especially those

involved in politics, business, education
and media: May they become
responsible protagonists in promoting
justice, peace, reconciliation, and
solidarity in our society.

Let us pray to the Lord

7. For all those who are suffering

because of the greed and
callousness of evil people and
organizations: May they find
strength in their Christian faith and
concrete support in all the members
of our communities.
Let us pray to the Lord

8. Let us pray in silence for our personal

intentions. (Pause)

Leader: Lord Jesus, in the midst of our

woes, you remain the source of our
hope and our strength. Make our hearts
like unto yours as you did with the
Immaculate Heart of your Mother and
all the saints. You who live, love, and
reign for ever and ever. AMEN

YOUTH TO THE BLESSED MOTHER MARY
Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother,
in our heart we want to know and love you
as the Virgin Mother of Life.
We want to dedicate ourselves to you and to
entrust to ourselves to your constant and
loving protection. Keep us healthy and
strong. May we grow in wisdom and grace
before God and men as Jesus did.

Mother of love, teach us in our

relationship with others. May we be a
source of Christs love, peace and joy.
The task of being the salt of the earth
and light of the world is not easy. Teach
us your ways, Mother of Hope, from
you, may we learn love, perseverance
and patience. May we partake of your
faith and hope as we face the
difficulties that growing up brings.

Mother of love, teach us in our
