Lombok island

In Lombok
Senggigi
Senggigi is the main tourism city of Lombok. It is
a house to various holiday homes and also has a market
for tourist shopping. Senggigi lies at the heart of the
Lombok Island and all the major routes and roads
passes through it. The place doubles up as a great place
to unwind during nights; you can enjoy the local food at
restaurants and listen to music in cafes and bars.

West of Lombok
Pura lingsar
Pura lingsar is a sacred not only for Lomboks Hindu
community but also for local Moslem and Waktu Telu
followers. Build around 1714, Pura Lingsar was originally
based on the prevailing animist beliefs of the time, and some of
the original animist statues remain today.
This temple is traditionally associated with fertility,
irrigation and rice. Perang topat , is an annual festival held at
Lingsar and features a ritualized war with rice cakes, which also
serve as an offering to the Gods.

Pura Narmada
Pura Narmada (or Narmada temple), around 10
km east of Cakranegara. Narmada, was created in 1805
as a replica of Rinjani mountain and Segara anak lake,
within Rinjani`s crater . Where, we can find the holy
water which is believe to be a young for ever. The
gardens at Narmada are beautifully maintained
surrounded the pools and lake.

Pura Suranadi
Pura Suranadi, a complex of three temple
located a few kilometers north of Narmada . Suranadi is
the oldest and holiest of the Balinese temples in
Lombok, founded by the 16th century Javanese priest,
Danghyang Nirartha. Underground streams bubble up
into restored baths, used for ritual bathing. Huge
sacred eels live in the pools and streams here , and can
sometimes be lured out with an offering of boiled eggs
(purchased at a nearby stall).

Banyumulek
Banyumulek, one of pottery center in lombok,
famous for its traditional pottery hand made, producing
many kind of earth ware in simple method and tool
Lombok pottery makes a great souvenir of gift
to carry home

Sekotong
Sekotong is a picturesque area on the southwest
coast, where the waters are turquoise and the sand are
blindly white. The large calm bay just before Tawun (
Sekotong) is one of the most beautiful on Lombok,
reminiscent of the Caribbean. This is an ideal base for
exploring the southwest coast.

Central of
Lombok
Sukarara
Sukarara is 5 km to the west of Praya, renowned
for its traditional hand weaving of brightly patterned
songket, ikan and sarung where quality ikat and
traditional cloth is displayed and sold. Weavers work
outside many of the shops ,using antiquated back
strop looms to painstakingly produce works of art.
Some of the larger pieces can take several months to
weave, and collectors from around the world visit this
village to purchase the blankets sarongs and cloth
produced here.

Rembitan and Sade

Rembitan and Sade, are located on the main
road before Kuta, are two traditional Sasak village
sitting between the roadside and the rice fields.
Rembitan and sade village featuring the unique
traditional house with its buffalo dung floor, laid out in
old-style compounds.

South of Lombok
Kuta Beach
Kuta Beach is the main resort area on the south coast
and is famous for its beaches and great surfing. There is a
good variety of accommodation and restaurant in the area,
including the architecturally spectacular and luxurious
Novotel Lombok Resort, located on one the most
picturesque beaches in the area.
Kuta is popular with surfers and holiday-makers
seeking sun and sea. Located about 45 km (28 miles) south of
Cakranegara, or one and a half hours drive from Senggigi,
Kuta has an expansively beautiful white sand beach and is a
good base for exploring the stunning beautiful southern
coastline.

Gerupuk
Gerupuk , to the east of kuta, is surrounded by
lovely beaches and is located at the start of a peninsula
called tanjung Ran which just into the Indian ocean.
Huge swells create great waves for surfing and attract
hundreds of adrenalin junkies to surf here every year.

Gili Meno
Gili Meno is the middle and smallest of the three
with the lowest population. It is not as developed as
Trawangan or Air, but has its own special tranquil style.
Small hotels and basic beachside huts provide
accommodation for those seeking a peaceful place in
the sun, with unpopulated beaches, clean waters and
quiet walk under the star filled skies at night.

Gili Air
Gili Air is the closest to the mainland and the most
quickly accesses of the three Gilis. This island has the largest
number of population of the three and combines the charm
of a tropical island, with access to the people and culture that
make Lombok so special. Diving facilities abound and there is
nice snorkeling directly from the shore, particularly from the
east and northeast beaches.
The south of the island has some good surf, in the
right conditions.

Gili Trawangan
Gili Trawangan is the largest and furthest island and
furthers from the mainland, but not easily reached in less
than an hour by local boat or around 10 minutes by
speedboat. This is the most famous and developed from the
three Gilis, with a wide range of accommodation, bars and
restaurants to suit all tastes. The beaches are clean and
perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
Snorkeling is extremely easy just off the shore and
there is an variety of tropical fish species to enjoy
