IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON

HUMAN HEALTH
Analysis through GIS

CLIMATE CHANGE

a change in global or regional climate patterns.

a long-term change in the earth's climate.
Change in climate caused by increase in the
greenhouse effect.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate has been changing due to human activities.

Process of climate change has intensified in the last two decades and is
causing serious concern due to its impacts on various aspects of human
life.
Effects of climate change
Vegetation pattern
Disasters are becoming frequent
Unpredictable rainfall
Melting of Ice
Climate variability has direct bearing on the diseases caused by
mosquitoes, and respiratory and water-borne diseases.
The climate change related health consequences of diarrhoeal
diseases, malnutrition, and malaria are projected to pose large risks to
future populations.
Risks may vary with scales and geographic regions. In this
context, it is worth assessing the importance of geospatial tools for the
diversity of health issues.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS)

Geographic information system (GIS) has emerged as a major tool in all the
areas of health research, ranging from spatial variation of diseases and to
access to health services, including identifying hotspots of illness and
effective planning.
Utility in Geographic visualization.
Explanatory Analysis of data.
Identification of problem more conventional regarding health.
Identification of environmental issues.
We can work in very large scale.
Highlighting wide verity of analysis
Microscopic to the global scale.

important.
Malaria occurrence depends on
change in physical environment such
as elevation, water body, forest and
agriculture and climate change such
as rainfall, humidity and temperature.
508 villages are highly effected
Total villages 524 were effected.
