IP SITUATION IN THE
PHILIPPINES

A vast majority of the 12 Million population of
Indigenous Peoples in the Philippines reside in the
uplands which they claim as part of their traditional
territories.

IP SITUATION IN TARLAC
PROVINCE

The province of Tarlac is bound by Zambales Province on


the west, sharing the latters mountainous terrain,
specifically the Zambales Mountain range. The central
portion is characterized by rolling hills, while the eastern
part is flat, adjoining the province of Nueva Ecija, the rice
granary of Luzon. Capas is one of the 18 municipalities
that make up Tarlac Province and the ancestral home of
the indigenous group known as Aeta, sometimes called
Negritos or Kulot (curly-haired), commonly referred
to in the Philippines as the people of the mountains.
The Aeta are discriminated against because of their dark
skin, curly hair, small stature, and also because of their
strong emphasis on foraging (Seitz 1998).

AIMS OF THE STUDY

The study aims to magnify the Aeta pupil graduates of Capas


West District During the school year 2005 2010
describe the present status of the graduates in terms of
accomplishment like:
-Educational attainments,
-Employment,
-Achievement
-Perception of success in life,
-Assessment on the importance of their elementary education
Provides an opportunity to explore the problems or obstacle
facing by indigenous people students to the compulsory years of
schooling.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
STUDY
The findings of this study can be used by the following sectors:
The Education Department of the Government
The School administors
The Funding Institutions
The Parents
The Teachers
The Learners (Aeta pupils)
The future researchers

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE


STUDY
The main purpose of this study is to gain
information on the current employment, economic
status and accomplishment of the graduates,of the
Aeta pupil graduates of Capas West District
mountain school
The study will look into the present status of the
graduates in different variables.
Likewise, this study deals on the suggestions and
recommendations of the graduates on how to
improve and strengthen the indigenous people
curriculum vis--vis the pursuit of higher education
and of the world of work.
