From USM@APEX:

USM believes that it can play a role and contribute to sustainable

development vis-à-vis the generation of human capital, acting as a
source of expertise through research and consultancy, by bringing
together talents and elements for sustainability, adopting best
practices through on-campus management and development activities
to undertake strategic planning, building design, waste control, and
water and energy efficiency practices.

According to Peter Joseph,

Abundance, sustainability and efficiency are the

• Technology can be used by the little people
to complete the big amount of work .
• It mean the technology reduce a lot of worker
• For examples, manufactures

By : Chin Onn
• The technology can create the new
opportunity
• For an example, computer repairer
• Beside that, there are a lot of people required

higher profits

Increase quality Increase quantity

By : Aileen
-the existence of higher profits can subsequently be followed by three
effects:
1.The firms in the industry can keep some of the increased profits for
internal use (additional investment, etc.), or distribute a part of it to their
owners or shareholders;
2.The firms can decrease the prices of their service (or products) to the
consumers, or—they may increase prices by less than they would have in
the absence of productivity increases.
3.The firms can provide higher compensation to their employees—in the
form of higher wages and/or fringe benefits.

By : Aileen
-while some inputs will be of improved
quality or there can be changes in
production arrangements.
-the same output can be produced with
fewer resources.

-more output can be produced with the

same quantity of inputs.

waste

•Technology today evolving very fast. We can observed that from before people
walking. Slowly replaced by motorcycle, car and aeroplane.

•Sometimes we haven fully controlled the old technology ,scientist had invent a new
technology.

•It is caused by the demand of the people. They demanded for new products which is
convenient and high-tech. Example hand phone today besides have main function to
call and sms but it also can surf net, play games, and watch video.

•Because of the demand from the people, scientist try to fulfill our requirements. The
old technologies will replaced by the new invented technologies.

Another text from
USM@APEX:
Another strategy which USM will follow to realise this sustainability-led
growth is the “Blue Ocean Strategy” which is proposed by Kim and
Mauborgne (2005) as entities to propel itself toward unknown market
space (hence the blue ocean) which is untainted by competition. “Blue
Ocean” is analogised as the deeper potential of market space that is yet
to be explored and this requires institutions to expand their existing
boundaries and change the rules of the game which, in turn, will render
competition irrelevant.

Because, Competition = waste

Competition = inferior products
Competition breeds monopoly?!

competition make people to stab each other from behind..

(Red Ocean by 1B)
But, doesn’t competition too have positive point?

Motivate people
It can :
Give us various product and choice for us to
choose..
