The early 20th Century is the advent of the
Modern Digital Age. IT Corporations like Microsoft
and Apple dominated the mainstream.
The digital age also brought about changes in
technology in education. This age brought about
Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI).

Bill Gatess Microsoft and Steve Jobs Apple Inc.
were the prominent IT corporation during this
era.

The birth of the world wide web (or Internet)
changed the application of technology from IT to
ICT (information and communication technology)
abd brought about Computer-Assisted Learning
(CAL) and distance learning.

Tim Berners-Lee invented the


Internet.

21st century the modern age


The advent of tactile or haptic technology
brought about interactivity integrated in teaching
and learning. Handheld devices had also brought
dynamic changes in technology in education.
