LYRICS
If you ever get close to a human and human behavior
Be ready, be ready to get confused and be in my head after
There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic to human behavior
But yet so, yet so irresistible and me and my fear can
And there is no map uncertain
They're terribly, terribly, terribly moody of human behavior
Then all of a sudden, turn happy and they and my here after
But oh, to get involved in the exchange of human emotions
Is ever so, ever so satisfying and they and my here on
And there is no map and chair too
Human behavior, human behavior
Human behavior, human behavior
And there is no map
And a compass wouldn't help at all
Yeah, uncertain
Human behavior, human behavior
Human behavior, human behavior
Human behavior, human behavior
Human behavior
There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic
To human, to human, to human, to human

HUMAN BEHAVIOUR

Bjork's 'Human Behaviour' acts as a major influence in the creation of

my music video. It's broken up, almost disorientated style creates the
connotations of madness and confusion which I think is particularly
effective. For example; the use of animated/puppet like animals
maintain a sense of fear and terror throughout the video. It does so by
using a childlike element such puppetry/ animation, but placing it
against the what seems sinister lyrics in the location of a dark forest.

The use of the forest within the video is something I want to focus on
heavily and reference in my own video. The Forest of Sin, will be what
leads my character into almost an insanity. Similar to how in 'Human
Behaviour', Bjork seems trapped and lost in the depths of the dark
forest, surrounded by strange characters. I think Bjork's video perfectly
maintains the thought of insanity and fear and does so with the location
of the forest and the childlike creatures that both haunt her and are
chasing her. Bjork's character in the video reflects my own female
character within my music video. Both are afraid and trapped in the

HUMAN
BEHAVIOUR
'Human Behaviour''s use of camera to portray fear and
insanity is especially interesting. The camera follows
Bjork but makes sure that the shots are from every
height, every side, angle etc. Shots change within
seconds and there is never a slow paced cut. Everything
is edgy, short and creates a complete disorientation for
the viewer. For example; when Bjork is falling there is
continuous cuts away from the scene to create the
concept of being watched, but to also maintain the
audiences attention with it's sudden cuts and fast
movement.
Something I hadn't thought of before was the use of
darkness within the uncharted forest. This is now
something I hope to use in my own film. In particular I
want to reference the shot of Bjork trying to escape
through the trees/bushes. The forest in my video is
intended to act as civilisation surrounding my female
character, trapping her into something she cannot
escape from. She cannot conform to what they ask of
her. For this reason, the shot of Bjork escaping through
the bushes would act as an integral metaphor to develop
my female character's insanity.

LYRIC ANALYSIS
I have interpreted the lyrics to Bjork's 'Human Behaviour' as
particularly linked to my own concept of mental illness and fear...

''yet so irresistible and me and my fear''

''They're terribly, terribly, terribly moody of human behaviour

- Connotations of fear being irresistible. Perhaps linking

to 'The Forest of Sin'. Bjork walks into the forest that she
fears, it is irresistible, it's temptation and it leads her to
her doom. This is similar to my female character, and
how her mind leads her to her doom in the uncharted
forest.

Then all of a sudden, turn happy and they and my here after
But oh, to get involved in the exchange of human emotions''
- Here, the lyrics suggest the sudden change of emotions to which my
female character can't always understand in human behaviour due to
her condition. There is an element of confusion in this sentence about
the human emotions and the concept of being unable to define what is
right and wrong. This is strongly reflected in my main female character
and her inability to decipher the truth.

''there is no map uncertain''

- Connotations of your life being planned out for you. Links to
the idea of fate and the concept that you're being controlled
by somebody else. This can link to the idea of religion and
sin that embeds the forest of my plotline. In addition
however, it could link to the concept of mental illness, and
how my female character is making no decision of her own to
commit crime and grow insane. It is in fact her illness that is
controlling her, she is helpless.
