A Mechanical Engineer from Pune University and an MBA from


XIMB, Sri also did a programme at Harvard Business School on
Private Equity & Venture Capital. He sometimes pens his
thoughts on entrepreneurship like Where are the
Manapreneurs (Economic Times) and Starting up Struggles).
In 2001 Sri won the India Leadership Summit award held at
Mumbai. Close to Sris heart is his wish to develop and actively
support the under-privileged in Odisha through the Binaya Misra
Foundation that he set up in 2010. Sri is a fellow of the 4 Sight
Class of Aspen Indias Leadership Initiative

ABOUT THE MILK MANTRA


Srikumar Mishra is the founder of Milk Mantra a new dairy venture
with a focus on functionally differentiated products made from ethically
sourced milk & leveraging brand capital for creating sustainable
impact. The Milky Moo brand is one of the fastest growing dairy
foods/FMCG brands in this part of the world.
He left a successful corporate career in London with the Tata
Administrative Service, the leadership resource of the Tata Group
where he rose to become Director of Mergers & Acquisitions of the Tata
Tea & Tetley Group, to return to his home state Odisha and start Milk
Mantra in 2009. With an intent to create an exciting and vibrant food
brand whilst creating a significant impact in the lives of poor farmers in
Odisha, an oft neglected and under-marketed state, Sri raised start up
funding of $5Mn from venture & angel capital, as well as debt funding
from a bank. Milk Mantras Ethical Milk Sourcing programme started
from scratch in 2011 and now has more than 6000 farmers in Odisha
who are clearly benefiting today.

CONT.
- Developed & rolled out an Ethical Milk Sourcing program
and integrated dairy supply chain & processing facility. We
already have 7500+ farmers in our network who are
benefiting from this directly. And we have built the latest
technology milk processing & packaging infrastructure in
Eastern India.
-Founded Milk Mantra in late 2009, India's first VC funded
agri-business startup. A dairy venture with a focus on
functionally differentiated products
. Today, around 200 people work at Milk Mantra and
everyone here is
excited with the possibilities of
nourishing a Truly Pure living - from our consumers to
farmers!

-Currently network of about 25000 farmers


250 milk collections points.
-FY 2015 with around Rs 80 crore in revenue and FY2016
between Rs 150-200 crore

-Main plant Puri district Odisha & sambalpur
-Main market Odisha,west Bangal and Jharkhand Eastern

-At that time, the dairy products business was a $40-50
Billion market and highly unorganized . Only $5-7 billion was
in the organized space ,in eastern India
