INTRODUCTION

Productive and conducive learning environment.

Manageable classroom.
Teachers are in charge of creating productive and conducive atmosphere of learning in
order to have a manageable classroom.
A successful classroom management involves the consideration of the physical
environment, rapport with the students and the students individual sense of belonging
to a group and their sense of progress (Geyser, 2006).
However, research done by Salmiza Saleh and Afik Aziz (2012) showed that 58.33% of the
teaching practice in the research area was at a minimal level of interaction whereby the
teacher does the talking and interaction the most.
Teacher-centred instruction doesnt allow students to express themselves, ask
questions and direct their own learning and this may cause the pupils to get bored
during interactions (University C., 2012)

What was my research issue?

Pupils were demotivated to

participate in any activity.

What was my research issue?

Today I prepared worksheets based on
the topic about hobbies. Instead of
focusing on the task I have given, some
of them were gazing out of the window.
Some were even did their work with their
head on the table. It was a simple task,
but it took them more than 50 minutes to
complete everything. They were very
slow.

Why realia and games?

REALIA + GAMES = REAMES

realia has the advantage of getting pupils attention
for its three dimensional features. By support the
lesson using realia, the pupils able to relate them
with themselves as the realia may be related to their
daily lives.
fun learning allows the pupils to participate actively in
the activities being designed and eventually making
the learning much more meaningful.

What was my recommended intervention?

Method
I asked them verbal questions to recall back what

they have
learned from the poem Seaside in the previous week. Some
were enthusiastically answered me and some were prefer to sit
and listened to their friends responses. Then, I stimulated their
stimulus by providing pictures and words about things that we
might found on a contaminated beach. Then, I explained to them
that I am going to read a text and they were required to listen and
circle the appropriate answers. As I observed the classrooms
environment, I discovered some of them were not paying
attention and showed no interest to complete the task given.

Journal Entry: Reames Method

I was super thrilled to see my pupils enjoyed their learning today.
As for me, it was truly my first experience of conducting such
activities. All this while I thought it would be hard for me to
control classroom while conducting games. Furthermore, I
underestimated my pupils for their mix proficiency skills. I never
thought that they were able to complete the game within the time
frame I have been set. Hence, games seem to be effective to
introduce vocabularies in exciting ways to them. I am surely
going to carry out this kind of activities whenever it is suitable
for me to carry out.
