Emergency Blow Down
If drum level goes hi this will open on auto
to maintain drum level.
Continuous Blow Down
Used for maintaining chemical parameters in
boiler water.

Drum Level Control is 3 Element Control
Unit 5 drum level is controlled by STBFPs
speed and MBFP 100 % & 25 % disch. valve.
Unit 6 drum level is controlled by STBFPs
speed and MBFP scoop tube or hydraulic
coupling.

Stotiometric Air & Excess Air


Air is required for combustion process which
is supplied by 2 No. of FD Fans.
Flue gases generated by combustion process
are removed by 4 No. of ID fans.
Excess air is maintain for complete
combustion.

What is So Special ?
. Close outlet damper of ID fan from CGA 02
panel keep other ID fans outlet damper open
. Open blade pitch of one of the FD fan 5 to 10

Furnace Draft Control


In unit 5 furnace draft is controlled by inlet
guide vane.
In unit 6 furnace draft is controlled by speed of
the ID fans through VFD, IGV always
remains 100 % open.

Unit Capability
Capability means the maximum generation
possible with running auxiliaries.
Loss of one ID fan will run down the load by
33 %.
Loss of one FD fan will run down the load to
(50 %)250 MW.
