Introduction: Maintenance Management

Boeing supplied its MPT to Jet Airways
MPT is maintenance performance toolbox of software solutions
MPT gives quick access to streamline the cumbersome process of
customizing online maintenance manual
Jet Airways engineering and Maintenance facility includes C checks
upgraded further to D checks
Carries its maintenance activities at night halting statins at Chennai,
Kolkata and Bangalore.

Technical Dispatch Reliability

Having the highest reliability rate of 99.2 % and above

Maintenance operation can be divided into 3 categories:

Line maintenance
C or phase 10 checks(C checks)
Heavy maintenance checks(D checks)

Line Maintenance

Consists of

Routine, Scheduled maintenance checks

Preflight, daily and overnight checks
any diagnostic and routine repairs

C Checks

Carried out after a maximum of 4800 flight hours

takes an average of 8 days for its Boeing Aircraft

Sometimes results in a loss of service for a period of up to 10 days

Leased a maintenance facility at Bangalore from HAL on its Boeing

Aircraft

Heavy Maintenance or D checks

Consists of more complex inspections

Servicing of Aircrafts that require longer maintenance period

Follows a prescheduled agenda of major overhauls defined in the

Aircraft manual

Based on number of flights flown by the Aircraft or the age of the

Aircraft

A typical D check may result in a loss of service of a Boeing 737 aircraft

for approx. 45 days

Currently carried by the US FAA and the DGCA
